The Expulsion of Tony!

Getting rid of the unwanted that is Cancer

Tony was in the background, but my life went on :)

So once the beginning of February had been and gone the following five months was spent chasing the referral via my surgery and then the NHS app who insisted on asking ‘do you still want this referral?????’ Obviously, the answer from me was a resounding yes but it is quite hard to make a yes sound resounding via an app – and, off course, I do not have acid reflux.

With the game of chase the appointment afoot it was very much business as usual and I got on with things. Although, by April when I was again asked ‘do you still want this referral?’ I did sit my husband (Kingy’) down and told him I thought I had cancer. After all is that not what we are told, ignoring a lump and leaving it untreated could mean that it is cancer, the lump in my throat did not come and go it was there all the time, it was cancer, I knew it, I just had to get someone to look down my throat and sort it!

What did I do during the time? I cracked on with things, I had a shop (which I have to say is doing really well given the current economic climate) to run; a son getting ready to go to University, step-daughter due to give birth in August (first grand baby), runs to train for, athletes to coach and a hold load of other stuff.

March

Country to Country – 02 London. We love this, all the country stars from Nashville (mostly) come to the UK and share their country music with avid fans over three nights. During the day there is much to see with stalls to buy merchandise, signed cd’s and general stuff that can be a pain to carry around all day but are must haves (so I tell Kingy’ ). We dress up in our best lumber jack / tour shirts and cowboy boots and strut our way around the 02 catching up with our C2C family. Thursday evening pre C2C we went to Abba Voyage an absolute must see and so realistic – honestly, people were crying and screaming for more, not me I am just a Dancing Queen.

Later in March was The Grizzly. Now I have run this event many times but this year was the first year I took part in The Cub, the shorter version but let me tell you the shingle start, hill climbs, bogs, more hills, up the Stairway to Heaven is very difficult but all worth it for a hosing down from a man in uniform at the finish.

When a bear chases you, stand still, make yourself as big as you can and dig your heels in – or is that cows?
